Applied for passport, naturalization certificate not mailed back?

When my dad applied for the passport, he sent the naturalization certificate. He got the passport about 10 days ago, but the certificate has not been mailed yet.

Is it normal that it takes so long for them to send back the certificate?

Getting Naturalization certificate back.

Yes its normal.No need to panic.The passport if mailed through special post while Naturalization certificate is sent back via regular post.Could take up to 3 weeks.So please wait.Congrats for the passport!

It is standard procedure that the passport and the naturalization certificate are mailed back to the applicant separately, with the naturalization certificate usually arriving a few days after the passport.

However a 10 day difference strikes me as a bit longer than usual. I suggest that your father call the National Passport Information Center, 1-877-487-2778, and try to inquire when and if they mailed back his naturalization certificate.
