Applied for N-400 and still donot have permanant Greencard???

I am spouce of US citizen and I have been in north carolina for 3 years.
I had temporary greencard for 2 years and then i applied to wave conditions with form I-751 and they sent me notice(on 01/12/2004) that my green card is extended for an year and i shoud hear from them.

In the mean time since you can apply for citizenship 3 months before your residency of 3 years in US, i applied for citizenship. I sent N-400 sometime in december and I had my fingerprint in april,2004. BUT now i am worried about the process since i was expecting to hear about geencard in the mean time which i did not???????? I have no clue what to do?

vaippatel all you need to do is to make sure they stamp your passport each year until your petition for naturalization is completed and you take your oath of citizenship. My husband is in the same boat as yourself. He does not have a card to carry with him to show he is legal resident. He had his interview for his I-751 March 2004. Filed for his citizenship in June of 2004 had his interview for naturalization on Nov 1, 2004. We are still waiting for his name check to clear since June 2003. So at this point and time he won't receive his green card or oath letter until his name has cleared.

Please tell us more about your interview expereince.

Also, I think you need to follow up on whats going on with your application.

Charlotte is now processing April 15 2004 N-400s. Seems like something is wrong somewhere with his application.
