Hi,
I came across an interesting option in form N-470.
If a permanent resident is absent from US for a long period in the capacity as
clergyman
missionary
brother
nun
sister
Their absence is not counted towards Naturalization requirement. All of that period still adds to the 5year requirement.
On this basis can a person of Hindu religion (permanent resident) who wants to preserve Hinduism, go back to India to learn scriptures under a Hindu organization for an year or so and come back to continue religious work in US and his absence is not counted toward Naturalization requirement ?
According to US constitution for immigration purposes or otherwise, their options cannot be discriminated based on the religion. If Christians are given such options, Hindus should've the same options right?
Thanks in advance for any enlightening answers.
