Hi,
I am currently in US on H1B. I want to apply for permanent residence in canada. I got married in march 2003. My wife is in India right now. She will join me in august of 2003.

My questions are...
1. Can I apply for both of us right now.
2. Do I have to do anything after she lands in USA on H4 visa?

you can check at the cic website about all the requirements...
then both of you can decide what is more convenient, for you to apply it now... just be reminded that she still needs to fill up some docs...

make sure to look through the checklist which contains all needed documents from both of you.

while she's in india both of you can go through the list and see if she needs some more docs from India...

well since your wife will come over to US to join you why not wait for her before you apply, August is just around the corner...
well it is up to both of you to decide...


at the rate things are going on, it will take approximately 2 years before you complete the entire process.

I have more or less same case and it's already almost 2 years since I applied. If you are lucky enough and your interview is waived, you may look forward to get the process done in 14-18 months.
