Application filing Question-Please clarify

Hi
I and my wife are applying for citizen in the first week of Feb 07.
Do we need to send the two application forms in the different covers are in the same cover?
And regarding checks, do we need to send two different checks (one for citizen ship and one for figure prints) or one check for both.
Please clarify

Send both applications separately. In each envelope make One check for $400.00. Make copies of application and check. Send the Application via some trackable method with return receipt.

Some people send both applications in one packet. But I don't recommend that..
