Application for F-1 was mailed out with overnight express delivery to the Texas center the day before it was needed to be received. However, packaged was delivered late, and the visa denied because of this, because the applicant had been out of status from the day the package should have been received, to the time it was delivered to it's address and collected (It was a weekend, so it was 2 days)
Lawyer forwarded a letter to USCIS on our behalf with receipt of the overnight delivery paid for over a month ago, to try and reopen the case. But he's told us that it can take up to 5 months in total to hear back from them.
Does anyone have any experience of this, or have any ability to tell us what our chances are? How understanding are USCIS? We are desperate to find out what's going on, and the lawyer wont give any more information, and has told us that he will contact us when he hears something, but we're on edge not knowing what's going on!
