Appeals process

My I-140 was denied on the grounds that the labor was invalid since it was not signed by a legal representative of the company. My lawyer has filed an appeal, and yesterday I got a postal mail from DHS which has the receipt notice. It was very unusual since all the documentation was sent by the DHS to my attorney, this one alone came to my home address. Does that mean anything ??
Also how long does it take to get a reply on the appeals process ?? Is there a general time line or does it vary from case to case.

Regards,
murthy

Most of the service centers send acknowledgements directly to candidate's address. This is not unusual. But the complete response and paperwork is sent to the attorney directly.

Reply timings vary from Center to center. Again, it all depends on how your attorney conducts and prepares the paperwork. If it has been rejected based on not having the legal LC...all it would require is sending in the original LC or a attorney certified copy (with signature).

Good luck !
