Was it your first AP or Renewal? In my case it is renewal (2nd time).

Sam

I got my AP today !
But i had to go to the District Office of the USCIS which has jurisdiction in my case.

Depending on where you live, you can check the website for that District Office and if 60 days have passed from your Receipt date then you can go in personally and get your AP on the spot. Thats what i did

Good Luck

Re: Sam

Whoa!!!

Congratulations for getting your AP. You did smart move.

I live in Columbus, Ohio. Please tell me where to find district office in my jurisdiction ASAP.

But the problem in my case is that my wife is not here. So, she cannot personally go as you did. Pl. suggest.

Thanks for keeping me informed.

i understand that but its worht a shot. You can ask your wife to fill out a I131 and sign it and fax it to you. Also u must have 2 pictures of her and a copy of her passport.

Re: sam

My service center is Vermont. This way they will find it that she is not in US and will create more problems.

Also, some of the lawers say that she cannot come on AP because, she was not in US when her AP was approved. She went to India on her first AP, which got expired in Dec and she could not come back before that due to medical conditions.

Do they really check at the airport in here that when the AP was filed and when she went to India?

Thanks,

Sam

i cant answere that as i have never gone to India on AP. But i think if you look at the I 131 form clearly you will see that there are 3-4 check boxes in there for you to check depending on your condition.
If i remeber correctly one of them is "if you are outside US". So i suggest download a form I 131 and see what it says.

The best way is to go to the District office and see what they tell you. its easier then you think. It was really easy for me and i was in and out of there within 30 mins.
