AP Vs. H4

My wife received EAD, AP and Social Security Number base on EAD. However, she is not working anywhere and had not received any salary etc.

We are planning to visit our home country during the month of Jan. While re-entering US can she use her H-4? Will there be any impact on pending I-485 Application.

Please help.

You don't have to use H4 / AP

You can use either of one, as long as her H4 is multiple entry visa.
Second thing if you use AP her H4 will be terminated automatically, and if you use H4 both things stay alive.
 
You have not mentioned your status. Travel on H4 or AP depends on your status too. If you have started working on EAD (being primary applicant), then both of you should travel only by using AP. If you are still using your H1 then H4 will be valid since she has not worked for even a single day.

But also remember, on your re-entry all your information can be seen by the officer, that means if your AP is approved the officer would know that your AP was approved. Yo may have to show it if asked. Better carry your AP with you, if already approved.
