Hi,

We have a peculiar situation where my wife received her EAD and AP and we were told my NSC that her I485 had been rejected as improperly filed.

My lawyer (after a healthy wait of 2 months) spoke with an IIO at NSC. They actually tracked her case and concluded that her application has been accepted and is in the correct A# area, and that the AVM msg is wrong. My lawyer also told me that an EAD or an AP and an A# would never have been issued w/o the I485 application having been accepted.

However my wife never received her I485 receipt and the AVM still says that the file has been rejected as improperly filed.

I am scratching my brains in figuring out how safe it is for my wife to travel even with a valid AP and an A#. Any ideas folks ?

Thanks and regards.

Hi,

I had the same problem. The AVM message does not change because you are checking it on the old EAC number . You will recieve a new EAC number after you have reapplied. Talk to your attorney and get the new EAC Number.

We do not need to repply

Thanks osss, but from what I know now, we do not need to reapply since we were told that the AVM is wrong.

So you see, now I am told that I do not need to reapply but at the same time my wife does not have a I485 receipt notice.

As long as you have a valid AP you don\'t need the I-485 receipt

Infact, I was specifically asked ( by my lawyer) not to volunteer information / receipts unless explicitly asked for..
Hope this helps !!
