Last week my wife travelled back to USA. Immigration officer at LAX verified and asked for the SSN. He found SSN is wrong in INS records (Last 4 digits are messed up with the year of birth). And suggested to correct at the local INS office.
Yesterday we went to the Santa Ana office and corrected.
That time I have asked about our cases if they are transferred from TX to CA. (I have moved from TX to CA last year. I have changed the address but not sure if the case is transferred to CSC).
IIO said file is still in TSC and asked if I have requested for case transfer. Also she said I can request for transfer if I wish to do so. Any way I preferred not to transfer at this point.
My question is: How the transfer works? Is automatic means, based on the current addres etc. will they transfer the case OR is it some thing applicants request for?
Please share your experiences.
Thanks,
