AP travel experience, Boston

My wife and I just returned to the US on Advanced Parole yesterday. Thought I'd share my experience with you all.

We flew in to Boston after two weeks in the UK visiting family. On the advice of my lawyer, I brought with me all 3 copies of our AP, my EAD, my last two wage checks and a letter from my employer saying they expected me back at work today. I also bought a photocopy of my I-485 Receipt, my old (expired) H-1, my old I-20... pretty much everything I could think of.

We didn't need any of it.

After the obligatory 45 minute wait to get to primary inspection, the first BCIS inspector asked us what we were adjusting our status to, and what my previous status was (in my case, F1 then H1). Then we were taken to the (expected) secondary inspection.

The lady there was nice, and asked us a few questions - who I worked for, what I did, what my wife's previous status was (F1, then EAD based on my I-485), when we filed the I-485, and how long had we been married. Then she stamped our APs, explained how to use them, and put our new I-94s in our passports. And that was that. Even with secondary inspection on a busy day we were through Immigration in a little over an hour. The only documentation I needed to show were the APs themselves.

So no worries! :)

Thanks!
I posted a question asking about other people's experience upon using the AP for the first time.
No one answered.. :(

Thanks again! ;D
