Gurus,
Does someone know if a transit visa is required for a 3hr stop (each way) in Frankfurt en route to India and back for someone holding an Indian passport and traveling on AP? Please share your experience/knowledge.
Thanks in advance.

YES

Yes they do require a transit visa, I was travelling on H1 laste year and they told me that I do need a transit visa whatever the duration is, I am not sure about AP, but I guess they will require it.

That is why I flew via Amstedam, they donot require one.

Update

Thanks for your feedback, guys.

I called the visa office at the German Consulate at NY. The lady who answered the phone asked me what's my current status in the U.S. When I answered that my status in the US is "adjustee to permanent residence," she immediately asked me if I have my parole documents and whether the date is still valid. She said that those documents will do as long as one remains in the international transit area of the airport.
FYI: The phone number is 212-610-9738 (after 2pm on weekdays)

Another update

German consulate in Chennai informed me that I would need a transit visa for traveling through Frankfurt on a US AP. Since this was conflicting from the version I got from NY consulate, I called German embassy in Washington D.C., and I was advised to get a transit visa. The lady at the embassy further said that if the NY consulate visa division still maintained that I don't need a transit visa, I should obtain a letter stating that. I went ahead and got a transit visa at the German consulate in NY. Peaceful; it hardly took 15 mins.
