AP renewal question

Hi ,
I need to file my AP renewal. My 485 is pending with VSC. Just wanted to confirm that I need to send the AP application to VSC
and not any other service centre or office.

YOu can mail your application to VSC -- but it's taking long time these days...
You can also do walk-in AP at local office.
Download form from website... have 485 receipt copy and a check or 110$ -- you would waste 3-4 hrs - if you have that much time it's worth it.



At Arlington local office it's taking 30 days... some places, e.g. Baltimore gives within a week.
 
Thanks for your quick reply . I was just confirming b'coz I read somewhere that the all AP applications are to be submitted to NSC irrespective of where your 485 was filed.

Just another clarification on the AP renewal form

Shud I select application type "a" - reentry permit OR
"d" - apply for AP after temporary foreign travel.
My guess is "d" but needed to confirm the same.
The INS website says that if applying for reentry permit, the application shud be sent to NSC irrespective of where your case is pending.

About 3 months when I went to Newark, NJ INS office they told that for AP we need to send the forms to VSC, they are not issuing walk-in AP's . Has it changed now ?

Can we do walk in AP in local INS office (more specifically Boston INS office) for second time (renewal). Last year, for the first time, I applied for AP and got it from VSC. Also please respond to saisiree question.

I got walk-in AP renewl from Arlington local office (My first one was from VSC). I think rules are same.. only diff is time... but you can check BCIS website of a local office and they list what all they do there.
