AP question

My wife applied for her AP on June 27th at TSC. She is planning for India trip leaving USA on Aug 4th. I know we can't mail her the AP after the approval so that she can use it while entering USA.

But my question is if her AP get approved before Aug 4th (let say on 2nd or 3rd) and if we haven't received it by 4th can she leave as planned and then can I mail it to her in India ? Technically she is leaving the country after the approval. ?

Any suggesion is greatly appreciated.

Once you get the "online approval", you might wanna go to the local DO and check with them. Possibly they might be of some help. However, until you receive it in the mail, I would not suggest to travel...Even though what you are saying makes sense and there is technically no way for them to actually find out when it was delivered into your mailbox, however it is a risk.
