so i am in the process of getting adjustment of status. i perhaps might want to be able to leave the country to travel for personal or academic reasons. i may or may not. who knows. in looking at the AP form, it basically leaves me with AP in selecting the options (if permanent resident or asylum, etc. none applies to me.)
now, if i put in the form, i must check AP. and if i select AP, i must put down why and all. what am i to say, may want to visit family for christmas holiday and see some for the first time in over 20 years? or may go to spain and do work on thesis. Or go see the pope in Rome? again, perhaps i will not leave the country for another five years or until i become citizen. who the heck knows. but i perhaps might want that ability.
what should i put down? some people have parents that are dying and might not get there on time to see them for the last time. i might want to see family and just have fun. big difference. maybe christmas back in the old country and enjoy it. i don't want to lie.
or should i just wait until my i-485 is appoved and i become a resident and just apply for travel permit. let me know what i should do and what you guys have put down. thank you.
