questions on AP.

1) I applied for multiple AP when I submitted I485 and was approved. Received 3 copies of AP, expiry date was Sept 17 2003. My wife and I used the AP to travel to our home country last year in August and reentered the US on Sept 6 2003, Port of Entry is LA. The immigration officer admiting us took all 3 AP. Kept 1 and the other 2 he stamped in the Parole Stamp box bottom left corner of AP, extending the AP to Sept 06 2004. Essentially extending it one year since our entry. My question is, is this right? Can I still use this AP? Anyone had experience similar to mine and using the extended AP by immigration officer at port of entry to travel outside US and get back in?

2)I am afraid the AP is not good anymore. So I went ahead and applied for new ones this year. I want to attend my brother's wedding on June 5th. Received RFE a few weeks ago saying I used old photo, have since taken new photo and sent it in again. Afraid there's not enough time before June 5th. Is there anyway I can go to a local USCIS office and get the AP there in time for June 5th?

Well it was not the extension that was approved. The stamp means that you were paroled till that date. And before you go hyper about being out of status etc it does not matter as long as ur 485 is pending

Now since ur previous AP expired in Sept 2003 you definitely need a new AP before u leave the country or you cannot get back. Unless you are working for ur H1 employer and have maintained the H1 status and possess or can get a new unexpired stamp on the passport, then u can travel on H1. The local USCIS does not give emergency AP's for weddings but you might wanna send outa fax to USCIS center to expedite AP. Check other posts for info on that

I seem to remember the officer saying it was extended a year and I can use it. Good thing I asked. That's why this forum is here. Thanks again.
