AP or H1 ?

Guys,

Applied for 485 2 months back and got receipts for 485,EAD.. I had not applied for AP. Can I walk in to the local INS office at Newark and get the AP now as I need to travel soon ? I have a valid H1 now but I\'ll be laid off next month. Would it be a problem if I come back using H1 before I\'m laid off or would it be safer to come back on AP ? Please help

how to travel on Ap

Can some one please tell me what is procedure to travel on AP.
what are the precautions should be taken.
Do we hav to give AP to airline worker.
So many confusions I have.
Can some one sets some light on this.
