AP not yet filed- Can we file now???

We have not yet filed AP...planning to go home (INDIA) in Dec'07. EAD Approved and recd.

Can we file AP now and if yes, how much time NSC is taking to approve the same..Can we travel in Dec'07.

Also can we travel with AP receipt or we need AP approval notice in hand?

Please Advice...Thanks in Advance!
 
I have applied in last week of July and still waiting for an approval. It is not advisable for you to go out of country with out having the physical document in hand. However, if you apply and have a receipt number handy, you can go to the local USCIS through Infopass and ask for an emergency situation. They will issue it right away.

So, do apply and see what works out best for you.
