We applied for AP on March 31 and it is not approved yet. My daughter has a ticket for Saturday. Since she a minor our friend who is flying on the same flight would have accompanied her.
They see only 75 people per day, so I went there at 5 am. 9 am they opened the office and we got a number. There were only 5 people before us. Reached the counter around 9:30 and explained our situation. The ladies took a yellow piece of paper, scratched something on it and gave it to me. It was their famous JIT report. She circled the date for AP. I said that I knew this – it is public, and I am there to ask for help, not for well known information. Then she said they can’t help us but we should go to Santa Ana office instead. 30 min later we were in front of Santa Ana office of BCIS. There was a huge line of people. 5 min after we arrived they announced that their computer system went down, so they can’t do anything but give information. That reduced the line by 2/3 so after an hour we were talking to IIS. First thing he said was – you should go to Laguna Niguel office – we don’t have your file here. We explained we’ve just been there. So he called them and spoke with someone for about 5 min. Then he said we should wait to get an approval and they can’t help us.
Overall I think it is just waste of time to go and speak directly to IIS. This is the second time I’ve done that for the last 4 years. Only thing they are trying to do there is to get rid of you and send you somewhere else.
Hope I don't have to go there for iEAD again.
