AP, H1 and India trip

Hello all

I have a pending AP with RD of 10/18/2004 after an approved I-140 NIW petition. I have a H1 visa but no stamp on the passport.
I am planning a trip to India in feb/march and would rather like to book the ticket after the AP approval (just to be safe). However, the appointment dates for the H1 visa at the TTS visa services seem to be all booked up till early march. I am sort of caught up between waiting for the AP and getting a visa appointment date

Questions
Is it wise to have a waitlisted appointment at TTS, expecting that it will work out? Is there any other way to get a faster appointment date?

How easy/difficut is it to get a H1 stamped these days?

AP processing at NSC seems to be taking rouhgly three months, which will be about Jan 18th for me. Can I plan a travel in feb assuming that I will have an approval by then?

You do not want to leave country before you get AP. If you have problems with getting a H1 visa stamp and you don't have AP, you will be in a tough spot. Also, you can only leave country if you have a valid H1 visa (not just status) on AOS pending without AP. So, you might put your AOS in jeopardy if you leave without approved AP as you don't have valid H1 visa stamp. Check with your lawyer on that, as I am not really sure of that. You don't wanna take ANY risk with regards to your AOS.
