Gurus,

I have heard that if AP is pending for more than 90 days at service center, we can walk in at local INS office to get the AP. Is it true?. Anyone has related experiece in Portland, OR INS office.

We got the AP receipt notice on May 15th, it states that, its taking 320-355 days to process this kind of case. We need to travel mid Aug. Just wondering if our AP is not approved by then can we walk in the local INS office on 12th Aug (i.e. after 90 days from AP receipt notice)?

Any help appreciated!.

Thanks

I don't think there is a such rule of getting an AP from the BCIS local office after 90 days passed by. This is rule for getting an Interim EAD. For AP, you can always go to a local office and request an AP rpovided that you are eligible to get a AP. I know one of my friend didn't even apply for AP, upon emergency, he just visted a local BCIS office and got his AP in one day. You can always try this. But there are no guarantees. Local offices evaluate the issuance of AP case by case.I hope this helps.

Thanks rajb00, your response certainly helped.

Well for us as such there is no medical emergency, but we still must visit India. What I am gonna do is to send a letter to BCIS NSC, asking them to expedite our case, for our situation. (I know it may not buy us anything, but there is no harm in sending a written request). Second I will try same at local INS office. Rest all is in God's hands.
