Hi Guys,

I filed my AP Feb 09, it is already filed over 90 days, my AP still not approved yet. I need to travel abroad right now. I am wondering if I can go to local CIS office to get a temporary AP. If I can, what documents do I need to bring. Anyone knows some website which contain the info about what I need to bring and where I should go to submit the documents?

Any info is helpful, thank you very much!

BB72,

There is nothing like a temporary AP. Some USCIS local offices issue what they call as an "emergency" AP though. There are no set requirements for emergency AP - you have to basically prove the nature of "emergency" to them (someone sick backhome or something..). Furthermore, each USCIS local office has a different policy on issuing emergency APs. For instance - the atlanta office does not issues emergency AP as a policy - no exceptions. Some others do...

The best bet is for you to (a) figure out what your emergency travel reasons are and (b) call your local USCIS office to find out their policy.

goodluck!
