Madhavi, Sorry to hear about the loss of your Grand-dad. I understand your frustration. You may want to get a letter from the Doctor or Hospital in India faxed to you and take that along.

(I really understand your anger and frustration, but its not advisable to use the 'f' word in a public Forum)

Madhavi,
Walk to your local USCIS office with a letter from the doctor or hospital where your grandpa died (get it faxed ASAP), copy of AP application receipt, I-485 receipt, I-140 approval( if you don't have I-140 approval, take the I-140 application receipt), 2 photos, cash/money order/personal check of $120, passport and all other immigration papers that show your continuity of status in the USA (including H1 papers).

They will give you AP on the same day. Please go there early in the morning as there might be long line.

Thanks,
