AP at local INS office

Is it still true that the Advance Parole could be obtained right away at local INS office, with the receipt of I485, now?

Yes. Getting AP at local INS with your I485 notice is possible. But you may want to double check with your local INS(I am sure Boston INS issues AP and EAD) and your immigration attorney.

It depends on the local BCIS. Some issue same day AP. But some needs some proof so that they can issue same day AP (emergency etc). I wanted one ASAP. But at Charlotte BCIS i had to mail the docs and they said it takes cool 30-45 days to issue one. hmmm!

so you mean we do not need to filed I131 for AP and go directly there and get AP approved.
My AP is exp on Dec2003.
I'm planning to apply for renewal of AP before that assuming it takes 3 month to get approval @VSC.

when you go to local BCIS you file I131. There is no work around!

As 485Jan02 noted, you have to fill up I131 at the office and pay the fees to get the EAD.
