The exact wording of status of my AP at TSC is as under:

--------------------------------------------------------------
The document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Can you shed some light on what do they mean by
registration of the case?

Is it normal of their writing? Does it mean an approval?

Your inputs will be greately appreciated.

Yeah - this is the normal wording -- it just means that the AP was approved.

If you had a lawyer, the AP would go to them - otherwise it will come to u directly.

Thanks for the feedback.

Now that the AP is approved, I shall plan my trip to India.
Because I haven't gone out of US for more than five years now, could you pls tell me what all the documentation may I need to carry with me for safe return?

Thank you for the reply which is a great sigh of relief.

The docs you need are very simple If you planning to enter using AP.

All of the AP copies (you'll get 2 or 3 copies in mail) and your valid passport are all that is needed.
You can have a copy of the 485 receipt (not needed - but just in case).

Also keep a few photocopies of the AP - sometime airlines ask for it when you check-in for your return flight to the US.

You may want to check transit visa requirements -- most European coutries are out there to make easy money and are forcing AP holders to take meaningless transit visas (as if airport taxes are not sufficient !!) -- most of the Asian countries don't have this stupidity - easier to go via West Coast if you have a choice :)

I haven't have any restrictions on travel in fact.

Which route do you think is the best that deletes the need for transit visa. Its not only expensive but also a cumbersome affair. And, as you rightly pointed out it is additional overhead over the airport taxes.

Thanks
