Gurus,

My AP got approved on May-11th and they have mailed the approval notice. But I have not received them yet. When I called the customer service, they said I have to wait for 30days and call them back.

I am going for a marriage next month, and I am worried if there will be further delay in receiving the AP.

Can someone advice me how this delayed thing works? Is there anyway to get it fast?

Thanks in advance
Booshan

I called the service center and reported them about the delay. They said you should hear from them within 30days. Have anybody else faced this problem? Are they good in resending the approved petition?

Thanks
Booshan

i would wait

My 131 was approved June 7 I still have not got the approval notice either..they send it by regular post do not expect to see anything before 10-15 days if do not receive it then go to local INS office if u can explain why it is an emergency
u may be able to get it now..

I had a similar situation with my EAD but within 2 weeks the online status changed stating my mail had returned. I called them back and they resent them within a week.

In your case I would take an Infopass appointment with your local USCIS office and get a interim AP just to be on safe side.

Mine was approved on May17th and i recieved it in a week. I never had problems before too. Maybe you recently changed your address or so.

AP approved but not received...!

My wife's and my Ap application receipt date was May 1st. She received her documents June 3rd. My online status changed but message did not changed. I called USCIS on June 9th and was told that my application was approved on May 26 along with my spouse's. The representative produced the document while I was on the phone with her and said that it will be mailed out same day, i.e. June 9th. Same day evening, the status changed and ever since I ama waiting. I called today and was told to wait till the end of this month. It seems the mailing is handled by some contractor and invariablt they delay it. I was told that if I didnt receive the doc by EOM, I should send a fax to the attention of "I131 Supervisor". And if I need to travel urgently, I need to set up an infopass app at the local office and can receive the document there as well.

at TSC?

My EAD is Approved on June 22nd and i have not recieved it in the mail. How many days do you think it will take to get in the mail. What are my options if i don't get back. My EAD is expiring on september 3rd 2006

You should receive it in a week or 10days. I have refiled my AP as INS said the document is considered lost. I am also going to visit local office to ask for AP.

I recieved Parole in 4 days after approval, But since my EAD Got approved on June 22nd and LUD Changed on 23rd which is a friday so they might not have posted on friday. So i am hoping to get it by saturday or monday.

My AP was approved June 27th (submitted April 12th) and I haven't go it yet. My EAD (also submitted April 12th) was approved Jul 3rd and I got it Jul 5th (go figure). I really need my AP soon - supposed to travel out of the country in 10 days.... hoping that I won't have the problems that some of you have had and have to re-apply. I did change my address last month on the pending applications - and apparently it worked at least with the EAD...

Wait for some more days as my EAD Got approved on June 22nd and I recieved it Yesterday. Some times it takes 5 to 7 business days.
I have seen people getting after 21 days also.

Rfe

For my wife's AP, they have sent an RFE. I should receive it in 3 or 4 days. Is there any way I can find what is the RFE for by calling service center?

Thanks for the advice. Still waiting. My planned flight is 20 days after the date of the approval notice (ie. 10 days from now) so it won't help me if the mail takes 21 days.... seems like it's quite common to take a while for the mail to arrive though which is somewhat reassuring......

Will the local office issue and AP even though I'm just travelling for fun (ie. no emergency)?

My current plan is to see if it arrives today or tomorrow. If not call NSC to verify my address Monday morning, and if that doesn't help (which I can't see it doing to be honest) to do exactly what you said and visit the Boston office to try to get the forms from them. Sound reasonable...?

OK so I have an INFOPASS appointment this morning to try to sort this all out. I'll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck. :)

Well I just called the NSC one last time to see if there's anything they could suggest. Since it has not been 30 days since I got the approval notice they cannot do anything aparantly. The lady I spoke too very calmly told me that she did not advise I leave the country and there was nothing she could do to help me even though my AP has been approved and I have a ticket to China for a week from today. Hopefully the local office will be more helpful....

Well they weren't more helpful. Still the story is that there is nothing that can be done except hope that the forms arrive before Monday. If after 30 days they still haven't arrived I can re-apply. I was explicitly told that emergency AP can only be issued for a family death...

So I just wait. Fingers crossed it arrives this week. At least I have a refundable ticket...

Well after all that it arrived in the post today (July 10th)! What a day! The interesting thing is that on the form my address has changed, while the envelope was sent to the old address and forwarded via the regular post office forwarding! The post mark on the envelope is June 30th, so it really did just take 2 weeks in the mail.

Anyway thank goodness I finally have it and can go on my trip. :)

PS. Apologies for the double posting, which is probably against web forum etiqutte, but I wanted the two discussions to have proper closure for my story.
