When you re-enter by road, you will be asked to park your car and go to the immigration office (which is right by the side of the road) to get your AP based new I-94 - that's all. (unlike a H1 entry where you'll be processed and sent your way right in that roadside kiosk).
Wait time depends on where you are entering (some places are busier than others) - give yourself at least an hour.
