AP and being abroad for few months

Hello,

I am currently on a short term project in India for my US employer. I am still employed by the same company whose sponsored my GC, just working in the India office

I have a valid AP until Dec 2008. Should I make a trip to the US before the expiration of the current AP? If asked by officer at port of entry, the reason I was out of US for few months, is it valid to say I was working on a project for India office?

Can anyone please provide feedback?
 
If you were working in US using your EAD. You need to return back to india before your AP expires. If you were in H1 and its still valid you dont have to worry about AP.

A the POE they are not going to ask any reason why you were out of US, if they ask you can say you went on a vacation or correct reason. It ddoesnt hurt
