Hi

I am considering moving to CP from AOS. Has anyone here applied for I-824 to NSC recently? Do you know how much timeframe it takes for NSC to approve 824. Also, I"ll fall under chennai consulate, so AC-140 is not possible.

Thanks much for your help.

Will you please let every body know the advantage you think you are going to gain....and also the pros & cons of this in detail.

Also where i can find more info about this ...i am under Bombay ...& i-485 is filed in June 03.

Thanks for your reply.

Here are the details....

EB-3 RIR....ND June 06,2003

140/EAD/Parol approved & received.

Presentaly on EAD as H1 is expired.

Do not want to wait for 18 months more....so looking for better & quick option.

Hi
I am in the same boat too.
485 RD Aug 1st 2002'
FP-1 Oct 4th 2002
Presently on HI (Expiring on Dec 31st 2003) and have an Approved EAD and AP.
Ive heard that if I try to transfer to AC-I140, then after filing 824, VSC will by default consider my AOS as withdrawn PLUS I will no longer be able to work on EAD. Is this true? Anyone on a regular CP whose H1 has expired working on EAD? Any help from previous Successful AOS to AC-I140 cases regarding this process? Did anyone who filed 824 recieve a written notification ALONG WITH the 824 receipt informing them that AOS has been withdrawn?
Please post.

guys you get very good info in Consular Processing forum. There already all these questions answered multiple times.

good luck,

I-824 at VSC is april 2002. and Calif / TXS are still in 2002 sept or so.

So if you are under the jurisdiction of nebraska or missouri, then 824 might be a viable option.
