AOS interview notice

I received my AOS interview notice today - my labor was filed from Santa Clara in 2001 and then my project got transfered to my companySacramento and I filed my AOS from Sacramento in Sept, 2004, my lawyer told me that since my AOS interview notice came before 6 monts after it was filed I will have to be physically present at the Santa Clara office for the next 6 months. Does any body know of any easier way so that I dont have to move there
