My wife is a USC and we went in yesterday for our GC interview at the detroit office. The IO was very nice and asked my wife if she worked but she doesnt. So he turned to me and asked me and I responded yes. He asked for proof of our marriage and we gave him the utility bills and bank statements which he looked at and returned back to us. Asked me the usual (arrested, communist, etc...) questions and I said NO to everything. Then he went over my I-485 and made sure everything was right. Next he said in a heavy tone "I AM GRANTING YOUR CASE" and we were so relieved!!
So many weeks of preperations and the case was approved in 5 minutes!!
The only concern we had was, his computer was frozen so he had to restart it to update my status. He didnt take my I-94, EAD etc and neither did he stamp my passport (He wasnt a junior officer for sure). So basically I have no proof with me that my case was approved. He stamped one of the forms or something else like that in his file with a red ink stamp. Is this usual? Anybody with insight could shed some light on this matter please.
Thanks!
