AOS based on DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone applied for adjustment of status based on chart B in the visa bulletin entitled (DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS) because for some reason my lawyer is saying I should use chart A rather than this one! please let me know.

Which of the two charts to use for AOS filing is decided each month by USCIS. From Oct 2015 to Apr 2016, they used Dates for Filing for family-based categories. From May 2016 to Sep 2016, they used Final Action Date. They have not said which chart will be used for Oct 2016 yet.
 
Thank you for the prompt response. It is strange that they updated chart B though, I am hoping they will allow it this month. Can you please let me know where do they indicate if you should use it or not for this month? and when do they usually publish that data. Thanks alot
 
Thanks again for the prompt response. I have checked the site of the USCIS and apparently for this month of October they will allow the use of chart B for Family based. The site says "For Family-Sponsored Filings:
You must use the Dates for Filing Family-Sponsored Visa Applications chart in the Department of State Visa Bulletin for October 2016." Am I correct in my reading ?
