Did you take photos in My Own Photo Studio prior going to medical in Hinduja Hospital??Also am new to Mumbai need some information in terms of accommodation like hotel etc.

I took some passport pics from here itself for the medical examination. You can get them taken at Walgreens or any such place. I then went to Myown studio on another day for the other pics. By the way, please be careful even at Myown studio. Make sure they follow the instructions perfectly for the pics. I got a letter from USCIS last week saying they needed new passport pics because my pics were incorrect. So please make sure they are correct.
regarding the hotel, I would recommend a hotel near the consulate, ie in South Bombay. If you give me some names of hotels you have looked into, I can tell you which would be good. Hope this helps.

Thanks aonflux.I looked at the mumbai consulate web-site i din't find any specifications for medical photos it was just saying 3 pp photographs. Also am planning to go to Hinduja Hospital regarding the biopsy i had for TB with Pathology report and Discharge Summary.I doesn't have any vaccination records with me but i got all the vaccinations mentioned ,my cousin is a doctor i can get vacc records if needed .
Any suggestions??

Srikar, if you read my previous message, I said that for medical photos you just need passport pics which you can get done at any walgreens over here in USA itself. It is the other pics for the actual interview/visa that I was advising you to be particular about.
You can get medical vaccination records if you like. If you don't have them it is no problem. You just have to pay a little more and they give you the shots. Don't worry.

aonflux,
Iam totally new to Mumbai.I tried to do some search over google regarding Hotels but not sure where to stay.Iam planning to be there for 4-5 days in a hotel near by to embassy.Out of my stay i would be visiting consulate and hinduja hospital thats it.

as soon as you know your interview date you can call and make your medical appointment. Schedule the appointment atleast 4 days before your interview. You can stay at Hotel Marine Plaza or Hilton towers. Look up expedia.com and make your reservation.

The issuing bank will have a copy of the check. You can ask them for a photocopy of that.

If you had a lawyer, he/she will have a copy.

Hi aonflux,
I got a covering etter from doctor regarding the biopsy i had for TB ,it just says that he recommended 6 month course for the disease doesn't say whether it is cured or not because the reason is i din't get it verified after the course is over.
Anyone else thoughts on this
Is it Okay??

Do you have the results of the biopsy? They normally test the culture for a few weeks to see if it was susceptible to the treatment. If you have that report it should be good. And your doctor should mention that you "completed" the treatment of 6 months.

aonflux,
Thanks for your reply.I do have test results but only issue is my doc was not willing to put "completed" the course in the letter reason is after test results are positive he recommended 6 months course and after 6 months i never went to him for check-up.So he was saying that he will put as "recommended 6 month course than completed 6 months course".
Not sure what to do???

If you have your test results it should be fine. And if your Xray in Bombay is clear you will be fine. Don't worry, I was worried too but it was fine. As long as you have some kind of documents of your TB history, and you are fine now right? Then you will be fine. Best of luck. When is your interview?

My interview is on June 16th,i have taken medical appointment on June 13th in Hinduja Hospital.Iam still looking for hotel accommodation .

If U plan to go to Hinduja, I would recommend, Metro Preetam. 5 min. cab ride from Hinduja.

That's where I stayed last June. The consulate and stuff will be 30-40 min. ride from there.
