I'm kind of concern about the Legal RFE I got.
Let me explain my situation. I came in May 99 to work for company A. I brought my family in Aug 99. After 1 year and a half working I transfer my visa to company B in Dec 2000 due to broken promises of Green Card (My current visa with company A expired in Feb 2002).
My Transfer was approved and I got Visa extension to Nov 2003. When I started working in Dec 2000, company B offered to sponsor my GC. After one year (2001), the owner of the company refused to submit Labor (Broken promise again, nothing written). Got frustrated, but I had no other place to go. After six more months dealing with company B and thanks to my former supervisor, the owner finally approved to submit Labor, but I had to pay for every fee of the GC process.
Labor started in January 2003. In November 2003, with labor being pending and suffering the long waiting (scared with some layoffs in the company, and financial downs) I submitted my final 2 years extension. At this time the lawyer, told me that my wife and my kids were out of status since Feb 2002, because I never included them in my second H1b extension.
I broke into tears for this situation. Finally my lawyer submitted I-539 explaining the reason and asking for a extension. I was really scared about that, and praying to God that everything went OK.
I-539 was approved and my wife and children got extension to stay 'till May 05 which is my date of my last extension.
I got Labor approved in May 04 and I-140 in March 05.
We already got our EADs.

Now, the Legal RFE is requesting evidence of legal status from Feb 2002 to Nov 2003. My lawyer told me to not worry about that, but He got nothing to lose.
In the other hand, I can lose my wife and my family.

Since the I-539 was approved, I don't see why they are requesting that information. I pray every single day that the officer approved our I-485s.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this experience.

Any experiences or comments will be greatly appreciated in this very tense and trouble time.

Be bold, keep ur chin up, practice ur faith(whatever u believe), make ur faith unshakeable and strong on God, pray and be patient everything will be fine. think in this way if God has written GC in ur luck it would come on right time and noone can stop it. and God will make the way when we see there is no way. :D

Good Luck

1. Is the RFE regarding your wife and children legal status only?

2. What was the valid date on the Form I-797A when the USCIS approved your wife and children I-539? Is it VALID FROM Feb 2002 Until May 05?

3. Have you ever provided all H-1B/H4 approval notices (at the time of filing I-485) since you and your family last entry into the US?
