Hi,
My mother went for her first visa interview at the Chennai consulate and was rejected visa. Her profile is
1.She is a widow
2.is a teacher at a private school and earns enough to support herself.
3.She has her mother(my grandmother) and sisters and brothers living in chennai.
4.I am an only child.
5.She has investments and land in chennai
Both my husband and myself are here on H1s and earn more than enough to sponser her.
The first time she appeared for the interview,we thought it would be better if my husband sponsers her as my H1 was expiring and I was yet to apply for renewal. We had sent all supporting documents and had showed a substantial savings balance. My question is what are her chances of getting through the second time. She is a confident, independent woman who has travelled abroad though not to the US earlier.Typically how much balance should she show in her bank accounts. She does not own a house there ,how important is owning a house there?Lastly (hopefully there is no need for it)what happens if she gets rejected the second time also? When can she apply again?
Has anyone been in the situation of being the only child trying to bring your parent here for a visit.Kindly please help.I am very dissappointed and wish there was some way to make the consulate/consulate officers understand that we are not their enemies and all we want to do is show our parents /relatives around the country we live in.
