I emailed, called South Korea's LA consulate. Got no anwser. And their website says it's ok to stopover for 30 days for US Passport holder without applying visa but offers little infomation on if they recognize US travel Documents such as RTD or ReEntryPermit.

Could anyone traveled to Korea shares your expeirences? Or Anyone has any knowledge on their Visa/Travel Document policy? Please

Much appreciated!

i was planning to go to south korea last year, i contact the counselate in

san francisco, i told them i have travel document because iam asylee,

they said it will take one day to issue the visa,

i usually travel a lot to japan with travel document, i never got any problem

Thank you JSmith for your replay.

I got their response today.

A bit confusing, but I think Re Entry Permit is OK to stay upto 30days without a visa.

If your re entry permit did not mention "refuge document", you may visit to Korea without visa for 30 days
with your return airline ticket(under 30 days) as tourist or transit.
