Anyone know anything about filing an interim EAD?

My husband just got a job offer today. We are still waiting for something to happen. I suspect we will be one of the "slow" cases...

Sorry, but I don't have much faith in the "system" as alot of people on here.

My husband really needs to start working or we will be forced to put our condo on the market... sell everything and move to France.

I just read that if after 90 days you don't hear anything regarding your EAD, you can go to your local district office and apply for an interim EAD. We will do this EXACTLY 90 days after the fact. We really have no choice at this point. Im not waiting for these yahoo's do get it together.

Does anyone know if an interim is possible or are their possible "hang ups" on that process too?

If your husband has received an offer of employment, make an Infopass appointment and take a Letter from the prospective employer stating his start date and plead for an Interim EAD.

asPapi,

That is a great idea! Can we do this before the 90 days are up or should we wait the 90 days?

I was wondering if we could beg and plead and get it early.

Doesn't hurt to try!

I can't keep up with the USCIS because they change procedures so often. They might tell you that they can't do anything until the 90 days- so just be prepared for that.

Maybe you'll have some luck. Your husband could also talk to HR.

It takes on average 72 days from your notice date to get your EAD. IN your case that falls around August 15th. Interim EADs are no longer issued... but it does not hurt to try. I tried it with my DO but they told me to come back after day 90. But luckily I got it on day 72.Thats the median number of days based on data i analyzed from people on these forums.. So hang in there for another 15 days!
