I just noticed today that my passport expired a week ago and my interview is on June 3rd. I don't think I have enough time to get it renewed.
I searched the forum and found someold threads about this issue, but couldn't find a definitive answer. What do you guys think? If there is anyone here who has appeared to the interview and oath with an expired passport, please post your experience here.
Thanks a lot!

I don't think that should be a problem.

I don't think that's a problem. Sometimes they don't even look at passports. You should be fine.

No its not a problem. Just bring the expired one. They usually only use it to cross reference the travel dates out of the country, that's all I think.

Absolutely no problem at all Passport is reviewed to verify the dates of your travel out of country (and where), many people have attended the N-400 interview without any issue with their expired Passports.

Technically this should be helping your claim for 'allegiance' to US as you let a document of your current Nationality expire. :D

Good luck,

I dont think they can verify jack squat looking at the passport for travel dates. They dont even consistently stamp the passport with entry dates even on air travel - so how can they verify looking at PP?. (Forget land or sea travel).

Check this thread and Triple Citizen's response that only 10% of the time his passport has been stamped.

I had that issue, multiple passports lots of stamps missing so stamps didn't match the application. It didn't make a difference. In my case I was pretty careful about writing down all my trips so my application was accurate although stamps were missing from the passports. However I would understand that people who travel a lot and don't have a careful log of those trips would end up trying to fill out the application using information from the stamps in the passports and whatever they remember of other trips. I don't think it is the end of the world. My guess is that they would care if you had made a trip to Cuba or North Korea or if you failed to report a long absence that is documented in the stamps in the passport. Anyway, going back to the original question, going with the expired passport to the interview is fine.
