anyone got approved on OCT 16 and after?

I think they have a staffing problem in the clerical/mailing section

Things were moving till end of august. But then it started slowing down.

If you look at yesterday\'s update from AILA, they have heavy backlong in the mail room. It takes a month for them for opening an envelop after they receive it in the mail room. I am guessing there are similar issues for the out going mail as well. Officers may be doing their work. But mailing approvals and RFEs are not taking place. They have some plans to reduce backlogs all the way up to 2003. But I don\'t believe that; They always had plans. But never got implemented.

Agree with you and ....

Officers may be doing their work. I believe there are a lot of approvals, but nobody is updating the computer system , AVM and mails
the approval notices. We will see a lots of approvals and REFs in next two weeks.

another story : I checked AVM, it said my EAD is approved on oct 10, 2001. the coming approving notice with envelop stampping on oct 7(sunday !!!) . So my EAD was approved on or before oct 5.

the above story tells me that AVM approved date is the date they update their AVM system. it is nothing to do with the actual approved date.

As I told before , this may be the case

I was told that I have an RFE, but not prepared and mailed yet. It is sitting on somebody\'s desk for the past 3 weeks.
