I don't see anyone saying they got approved in October. But someone out there must have gotten approved beacuse that's the point of retrogression, isn't it? There are people with a priority date prior to 2000 or 1999 or whatever that cutoff date is, so they get approved first.

But does anyone know anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who got approved in October?

Very good question. It's very confusing as to how they even come up with this strange priority date calculation. Whereas, USCIS service centers are claiming they are busy clearing out cases ... we can't seem to find ANY case that has been approved in 485. It is possible that most of them don't come to this forum or Rupnet. But not a single one?!! My guess is, those who had been waiting for so long and now got approved - may have more chances of coming to this forum and sharing. But not one ...

Hi ShibuGeorge

Where did you get this info? Is there any site where we can check how many of the 50K quota for schedule A cases is remaining.

Thanks

my daughter was approved on october 21, 2005.
our i485 RD is november 13, 2002.
My wife and I were approved in September

Nurse AOS interviewed, problem with visa numbers???

We just went for AOS interview. Everything went well. Standard questions and document request. However, strangely officer told us that visas are unavailable!!! Schedule A !!!?? Officer checked the computer and it did not give visa number. He showed us the print out for the visa request saying "Disapproved". We showed the bulletin, Schedule A are listed current. officer said he will have to talk to state department and find out why computer did not give visa. Does this make sense to anybody? Is it some kind of mistake? There should be visas available for nurses. What do you suggest we can do.
Thanks to any input.

Keep in mind that the visa bulletins are only projections and not firm facts. However, considering the history of the schedule A occupations, indluding nurses, I'm guessing that that there is a mistake made that will be corrected once the USCIS officer looks into the situation.

You won't hear lots of approvals.

My guess is that in 2005 or earlier years, the visa number has been over-used. So they need to set up very early cut-off dates to guarantee that no body or just very small number of people got visa numbers this quarter, If this quarter's number are still not enough to cover what had been over-used before, you will not see the cut-off date move forward very quick. I can not image there are thousands cases whose priority dates back 5 or 6 years ago. If that is really the case, you would hear that old case of somebody, either your friend or your friend's friend, got approved in this month.
