Has anyone gone for Advanced Parol application to the Arlington, VA office recently?

Can you please share your experience.

Thanks.

I searched in the forum threads and there are several topics about Arlington stamping, Arlington EAD, Arlington case transfer, Arlington interview etc. etc.

But I could not find anything on Arlington AP.

Have you or any one you know gone there to get a AP or AP extension?

AP at Arlington,VA

Two months ago, I got my AP and that of my wife issued
at Arlington, VA INS office. My wife did not even join me.
I had with me (me and my wife's documents):

I-485 (EB1-1)
Driver's licence
Fee (credit card or checks ok, but bring both to be on the safe side)

Before my documents were processed by a INS officer, a lady at the help desk went through my documents first before issuing me a waqiting ticket to wain for my turn. At first, she said that
my case could not be processed there, VSC should process it instead. I insisted that Arlington INS office should process APs for
employment-based I-495 filers, no matter wheere you filed, at Vermont or there. She then talked via cellular with her supervisor,
and said, yes you are right. If I had not insisted, it would have been a disaster. Sometimes, they just don't know. In about two hours, my turn came, and I handed in all documents, got a receipt,
and went home. In 6 days, I had my AP and that of my wife in the mail!!
So yes, if you have an employment-based I-485, Arlington INS can handle your AP. I don't know for EAD, that I got from VCS.
Cheers,
Cezar

Thank You for your response Cezar.

Seems like very few people go to local INS office for AP's. Of course there are a ton of people who go for stamping, EAD, interviews etc.

So, the good news is that Arlington office does take AP application. I am glad you got your AP in time. Some time ago I had heard that they give it to you right there at the counter. May be they do that with EAD and not with AP.

Is there anyone else who has done this?

I'm in similar situation. I already renewed my EAD, but not my AP, which are valid until 11/25/02. If anybody has similar experience of renewing their AP at Arlington or anyother local INS office in their state. Pl. post it here. I'm thinking to renew my AP from INS local office at Arlington,Va soon.

Pl. post your experience, if anyone in past has done so.

saini,

although it will help to get an idea of what other ins offices are doing, it is more important to see how arlington office has done in past. because there are differences between these local offices example boston office give walk-in ead but newark, nj does not.

you are really looking for a response like the one from cezar (kongoli)

thanks to cezar again for the earlier post.

anyone else gone for a walk-in AP in Arlington office?

i have applied for a walk-in AP in arlington office. the wait time was a nightmare the line moved very slowly. but the application was simple. the clerk did not even ask me why you want to apply for AP. however, i had made copies of my travel itinerary and all pages of the ticket and attached them with my application. along with copies of current AP of course.

i knew they do not give AP the same day, but now i will see how many days they take to process my application. if everything is good, like cezar, i should see it in about a week.

so, it is confirmed arlington office does accept walk-in AP application.

saini, do you have any travel plans in december? if yes, you better go there the first chance you get.

if not, it is not ncecessary. unike EAD, you do not have to have a valid AP. you need it only if you are traveling.
