Anyone gone for a later FP (than early FP?)

I got an RFE in May 2004, I replied and my status was updated on June 14th. However, My 2nd FP is not done yet.

Given that I will be out of the country for the month of August (I MUST ..), I hope to not get my 2nd FP during August.

Is there a way, I can request for 2nd FP by calling 1800 number ?? or can I delay the 2nd FP request to be after August.

In any case, how big of a deal is to miss a fingerprint appointment??? Or does ASCs fingerprint the people with expired appointment .. any clue ..

my wife missed first FP she did after she came back two months later than scheduled date with ( xerox copy) of old finger print notice.
