Hi Favor!

Could you please share your interview experience with us?
I would really appreciate that!
I'm going to Vancouver on March, 23.

Also, here are some specific questions:
1. Does your cell-phone work there? I have Sprint and I'm worried that I won't get a reception.
2. What about the power outlets? Are they the same as in US or I'll need a connector?
3. I'm flying to Seattle and want to rent a car there and drive to Vancouver.
Do you know if I will be able to drive the rental car abroad with no problem? Have you done that?

Thank you in advance!

Sprint should work

Same
3. I'm flying to Seattle and want to rent a car there and drive to Vancouver.
No problem, as long as you have a valid US license.

I'm going to Vancouver too for re-validation. What is your case?

I'm a F1 to H1 and now switched companies and my first H1 is expiring on 30th of March.

Hi Guys,

Can you share your experience at the Vancouver consulate ? I have an appointment in April. I want to know about the questions they will be asking me as I dont have a US degree. This is for my extension. I have been in Status all the time. And also I recently switched companies. I got my approved I797.

If you can share ur experiences with me it would be of great help.

Thanks.

Hi JadeBlue,

As far as a rental car: I heard some rental companies only allow to drive within the state. That's why i'm a bit worried.

Here is my case:
Came in 2000 for a J-1 summer exchange program. Switched to F-1 on time, studied for 4.5 years in community college (didn't graduate). Got a CPT offer from a local publishing firm, worked as an intern for 1 year, then got sponsored for H-1b in 2005.
My appt is on March, 23 and I'm freaking out. I haven't seen/heard about anyone with similar situation. Have you?

I have BA from Russia and it's evaluated as an equivalent to a US degree... but you never know... I have all papers and stuff in order.. but still it's scary... :(

Please share your thoughts with me ;)

Yes. This is my first time.

Actually, my Diploma wasn't evaluated by a big company. My lawyer sent it to some guy in NJ. He used to be a Director of Admissions and Registrar at Univ. of MD, but now he is retired and just evaluating degrees I guess.

Do you think it's crucial? I'm not sure I have enough time to eveluate it with someone else though.... :(

You probably don't have enough time to get it evaluated by ETS. From what I have read Vancouver seems easy going and you may get through without any issues. Good Luck! Let me know how it goes...

Thanks a lot, JadeBlue! I'll definitely need some of it.. ;)

I'll surely post my experience on the forum, hopefully a good one! :p

stamping in Vancouver

Jenechka and everybodu that already had an interview in Vancouver. Can you guys please post your experience from your visa stamp process in Canada?

Your feedback on how the whole interview proccess went will be greatly appreciated. Did the fact that you have a foreign degree evaluated cause any problem when appying?
