Anyone ever gotten interviewed and then sworn in on the same day?

I searched this forum and apparently this does happen sometimes....

I'm just wondering how often this occurs. :) Looking at
the thread for my local DO, at least 6 or 7 members here
have reported getting sworn in just hours after the interview,
right at the DO office.

Also, someome mentioned that if you request a name
change on the N-400, you have to go to an oath ceremony
held at a federal courthouse... If this is the case, do I
have a better chance of getting sworn in on the same day
if I do NOT request a name change? :)

Thanks!

It depends on the District Office. As I understand it, the Dallas District (for example) does not do this.

What DO are you associated with?

I did my interview and oath on the same day in Atlanta. I think it depends on the DO.

If live in Northern Virginia, they do it the same day. But if you live in Washington, D.C, even though it's the same District Office, you have to wait for a letter in the mail. That may tak eup to three months.

I know Newark, Baltimore, and Atlanta do the same day oath ceremonies. Most DO's still don't do the same day ceremonies. Some DO's will give you an oath appointment letter after the interview in person although most DO's would mail you one.

Chicago

Chicago does not do Oath the same day. DO office is in one building while the Court is in different building, probably about 1.5 mile appart.
