Anyone Corrected Spelling mistake In Passport Before CP

Dear CP Users,

I corrected my name from PRASANTA TO PRASHANTA and got a new passport with the new apelling which is also the same spelling as my GC application!

Did anyone face this before or new passport!!!!!!!
 
I got my name corrected in my passport from the Indian consulate in chicago. My interview is in chennai next month. But they did not issue me a new passport for that. They just put an observation saying that the name is corrected. I don't think you will have any problem, carry both passports. Do talk to your lawyer.

I will carry both the passport. My all documents in India contain the old name. My all document in usa contain the new spelling including the gc application. So I corrected my passport to the new spelling.
 
My wife's passport has an amendment for the name(initially wrongly spelt out). Anyway, it was done in India as soon as the P/Port arrived. I don't know how long it took.
