Anyone contacted NY Senators?

Has anyone contacted NY Senators, and has it helped. I am a sept 02 filer and as a last resort, I am thinking of contacting Senator Clinton. Could anyone offer any suggestions/ pros and cons of doing this.

I am in NYC area too. I have contacted both senators and the congressman all by fax at end of August. Then I followed up by phone. They all told me that they will forword the letter to INS and I will get feed back up to 90 days! So I just wait
