ANYONE Ciba/others--- PLEASE HELP Lost/never received I-140 can one file 485 without receipt??

Hi Guys

Is there anybody with the same issue, my I-140 was approved last July 2000 year, I or my lawyer never received the notice. He says he filed for duplicate receipt but nothing yet. My priority will be current next month (hopefully). Does anybody think that I can file for 485 without the receipt notice or how long does it take to get a duplicate?

Make sure your lawyer files for a duplicate. Ask him to send you the receipt for the request of duplicate I-140. The AVM might indicate that it will take 999 days, but in reality, you should have it 2-3 weeks from the notice date.

If your I-140 is indeed approved, ask your lawyer to send a fax
asking CSC to issue a duplicate approval notice. There is a
fax number which is known to immigration lawyers for this kind
of "quick or easy to fix" cases. If your lawyer knows the number,
the problem can be fixed within a week.
