Anyone applied for H1 extension 1 year with H1 6 yr is close

hi,
I am in the process of applying for a H1 extension for 1 year,
after 6 year limit is expiring soon (april 2001). I would like
to if anyone or any of your friends has gone through applying
for H1 extension for 1 year after 6 year is limit is approaching.

My GC process is in
EB3 RIR (India), PD 10/99, Labor Approved June 00.
140 filed in July 00 and approved in Oct 00.
H1 (6 year) expiring in April 2001.
At present, applying for H1 1 year extension.

I would like know if anyone has been in similar situation.

there are five options.
1)go ahead and file for extension, you might get lucky and get approval for 7th year.
2)You can stay in US upto six months after the expiry of H1 without jeopardising your immigration process. But you will not be able to work and hope that your date will become current by then.
3)Apply for O1 visa simultaneously
4)leave the country and wait for the date to become current. You need to have ajob before you file for I-485. If your company does business outside of US, that is prob the easiest thing you can do.
5)Process your work permit for other countries like Canada or Australia .
Talk to your lawyer and may discuss with other lawyers for different opinion.
