Anybody with similar experience? Broken Ridges during FP ...

We gave our FP on 02/26/02. It was electronic.
Some fingers passed the scanning i.e. the prints were acceptable and the computer flashed "PASS". For some fingers the message was "BROKEN RIDGES" and the INS officer told us that it is OK and we do not have to worry about it. Is this normal? Anybody here who had "BROKEN RIDGES" message, was ur FP cleared by FBI? Please post ur experience. Thanks.
 
AVM is not updated with the results of the FP as yet. It still says "FP notice mailed on ....."

INS will send you an RFE

INS will send you an RFE to get plastic surgery done and fix your ridges.
 
I have same thing...

They were ok and cleared by FBI... If yours were done by electric, then there must be an officer to check that before you left, if they said ok, then it should be ok.

I got broken ridges too. That happens if your hand has been cut or hurt in the past. As long as the machine says OK you are fine I guess.
 
I got the same problem.

I had the same problem in my Finger Printing. They told me this because my hands were little bit dry. But then they did it again and then computer said PASS. I did check AVM after a week and it was aying that my finger prints were received. I don\'t know after that.
 
Similar FP experience - however computer did not give error

When I had the electronic FP, computer was ok, but the gut said I might have broken ridges. And if FBI does not pass the prints, I will have to come again and get the FP done. And he said in this kind of case (like mine) the FP is usually accepted the second time, all you lose is about 2-3 months of time.

But I am still waiting after the first FP...
